In my 10 years of education experience , I’ve seen time and time again, families needing a better fit school experience for their family, but not sure where to start. As an educator, it bothered me that the public education system was failing them with one size fits all approaches. As a mom, it broke my heart to watch children slip through the cracks of a system not designed for them.
I KNOW firsthand about the home based method because I experienced it. As a kid with a heart condition, the demanding schedule of high school became too much for my health at the time.
I finished 9th grade in public school and transitioned to homeschool. My mom and I built the education I needed that combined time for my community theatre hobby, my college prep need, and time for me to rest to take care of my health.
At the time, the only homeschool resources available were printed catalogs that only give a small glimpse of a program. It was a lot of just ordering and guessing.
I wish there would have been more guidance for the curriculum. We cobbled together a program that worked and allowed me to graduate, but it took a lot of time and trial and error without a roadmap.
For over a decade, I’ve been training teachers to meet the learning needs of students. To help teachers go from not knowing how to help kids climb the ladder of learning to creating learning journeys for each student in the room without losing their minds.
Now I help parents be the leader of their children’s educational journey and give their family the environment they need, set them up for the grades and skills they want, AND to do it in a way where they know they are getting it’'right’ for them and their family, so they can drop the 'shoulds' and the second guessing.
I believe that everyone deserves a school environment that feels good and doesn’t have to look like anyone else’s environment. People are not meant for one size fits all approaches. Their education should be as unique as they are.

Do I need teaching experience to homeschool?
No! I’ll bring the education expertise and you bring the knowledge of your child. That’s where the magic happens. I’ll help you develop the specific skills you need to educate.
What curriculum should I get?
I will guide you in not only choosing curriculum, but tailoring it to your family’s needs. There are so many curriculums available. It’s like a grocery store. Sure you could just buy a meal but if you are gluten free and the meal is not GF, then it's not for you.
What ages do you work with?
The Home Based Method can be applied to students from Kindergarten to High School Seniors AND I have experience with all of them. I know the strengths and shadows that come with each age.
Do I need to be at a certain point in my homeschool journey?
I work with people just starting their homeschool life as well as homeschools entering a new phase such as grade changes, literacy challenges, or college preparation.
